ANNOUNCEMENTS - SETTINGS

Enable the Announcements module – the use of the Announcements module is enabled in CDESK if the switch is on . The visibility of the module in the menu is subject to permissions. You set permissions in Users and Groups-> Users-> specific user-> Permissions tab-> Announcements.

Types and categories of announcements

Type of announcement – this function is used to sort announcements. Sorting into types makes working with announcements more efficient. Types can be defined in the Type of Announcement code list.

First, set whether the Type of Announcement selection is Disabled or Obligatory. If you select Disabled, the Type of Announcement selection will not be displayed when creating an announcement. If you select Obligatory, you will not be able to save the announcement, unless you select the announcement type.

Categories of announcements – categories simplify the search for announcements and increase the clarity of the Announcements list. You can set that only the selected category will appear in the list. You define the categories in the Category of announcement code list.

First, select one of the options from the Announcement Category Selection code list.

  • Disabled: when creating a new announcement, the Post Category option will not appear in the list. At the same time, the list below, which defines the individual categories, disappears.
  • Optional: The Post Category option will be available in the list, but the user does not have to fill it in. You can save new posts without selecting the category.
  • Obligatory: the Post Category option will be mandatory in the list for creating a new post. It will not be possible to save new posts without selecting the category.

Definition of types and categories of announcements

A custom code list of types and categories can only be defined if announcement types and/or categories are enabled. The form for specifying types / categories in another language offers a translation for CDESK users. The languages ​​for the translation can be set in Global settings -> Language settings.

The Add button is used to add a new item. A new row is created in the list.

Drag the icon to change the order. Turning off the switch in the Status column will make the types / categories inaccessible when creating and editing announcements. Next to the switch, there is the icon that allows you to set the color of the type and category. In addition to the color icon, the user can choose from a number of sign icons.
